Rhino and the CNC Router: Brainstorming and Ideation

I don’t really know anything about Rhino or CNC machines so planning for this project was tough. If I’m being honest I still don’t know exactly what this is all about even after researching.

Idea 1:

The first thing that came up when searching for CNC projects was various board games. I thought this was a simple enough idea that I could accomplish so I noted it as an option.

Idea 2:

This is a print I made by hand this week that is an example of something that could go on the block

The next idea I found was printmaking blocks made from the CNC Router. I really liked this idea because I am currently enrolled in intro to printmaking so this is definitely a stronger interest of mine. This beat out the board game idea by far.

Idea 3:

The third thing that peaked my interest was these adorable little bowls. I almost like them better than the printmaking blocks, they’re just so fun and cute. I mostly make cartoons and such so this obviously caught my eye.

Overall I’d say 2 and 3 are my favorite and I know I should probably do idea 2 but I’m really leaning towards idea 3. I think the bowls would be fun to paint or just leave as is. If I made a design I really liked I could make a few and give them as gifts!
